Hello, I'm a first time Live Journal user, some of my friends are doing it so I thought I'd check it out. I'm a huge Xena fan. I love the campiness of the show mixed with the seriousness of it and I have an interest in greek mythology. I think it really paved the way for shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Alias and other shows with strong female leads. I feel that it was because of the success of Xena that the somewhat imagination challenged network execs gave those other shows a chance. Which I am very grateful for because I really like Buffy and other shows like that. If you can't tell, I'm a fangirl. I don't think I'm an extreme version of the breed, but I do go gaga for Lucy Lawless aka Xena and Renee O'Connor aka Gabrielle and Hudson Leik aka Callisto.

Of course my first love was Star Trek followed by Star Wars. I used to watch Star Trek on Sat mornings with my brothers when I was little. Then when Star Wars came out, my sister took me to see it in the theater. My folks didn't really believe in going to movies in those days, so I was really lucky to go to that one. Then I went to a double feature drive-in to see E.T. (followed by Flash Gorden). That was the extent of my movie going until I got my drivers license and could go on my own and with my friends. Well, I think that may be a factor in why I like movies and sci fi so much now. I was kinda a tom boy when I was growing up anyway, always outside riding my bike or going to my friends house to swim in her pool or working with my pony.

I'm not as active as that now, unfortunately, but I'm trying. I just did a little yoga, and I think I strained my wrist a little doing downward dog. It felt good though, stretching out my back, it's been killing me all day. Well, this might be fun. : ))
